Want to Know More about Me, Rachel Gurevich?
Aw, you're so sweet! I'm blushing.
Well, in short, I'm a work at home mother to four wonderful homeschooled children, including a set of twins, my miracle babies!
My first child's birth was, let's say, less than ideal. (If you'd like to read about it, you can in the excerpt of my book, The Doula Advantage, at Amazon.com.) It was his birth that jump started my interest in doulas, and oh, how I wish I knew about doulas before!
I had a doula for my second son's birth (a beautiful natural hypnobirth) and for the cesarean birth of my twins. (Yes, you should have a doula even for a cesarean section!) I would never do it any other way. HUGE difference.
I'm a professional writer, and I've written three books: Birth Plans for Dummies, The Doula Advantage and FabJob Guide to Become a Doula.
The doula books have been included in a number of doula training and certification programs around the world, and I'm honored to have the books regarded so highly.
I also write about fertility for About.com. In 2014, I was a recipient of a Hope Award for Achievement from Resolve: The National Infertility Association. The award is given to "an individual and/or organization/corporation whose accomplishments are worthy and whose actions are socially commendable which result in a material contribution to the lives of those diagnosed with infertility."
I've also done plenty of other writing and editing. If you want to learn more, much more, about me, about my writing career, about where you can find more of my work... then come by my website, RachelGurevich.com.
